Colusa Biomass is dedicated to advanced conversion technologies for the refining of biomass to renewable energy.

Biomass refers to plant matter that can now be processed into various industrial materials, primarily ethanol. The most common form of biofuel produced today is ethanol made from corn and sugar cane. However corn and sugar cane represent only a small fraction of the biomass available and thus a small fraction of the energy potential of the plant. The other big problem with corn and sugar cane is that they are vital food supplies for us and our feedstock.

Why are we using our Food to run our Cars? ridiculous

Today thousands of farmers worldwide have agricultural waste they can't get rid of and which is very costly for them to eliminate. We have a solution.

Colusa Biomass has pioneered the commercial use of biomass to the benefit of countries all over the world. Our patented process converts agricultural waste biomass into highly efficient

cellulosic ethanol. Until recently the rest of the plant (parts left after harvest) were usually considered waste material. Today agricultural waste is a significant problem for many farmers.

Just look about you. We did, and we discovered a bountiful supply of energy growing all over the planet. We talked with many farmers and we learned a lot. We learned that most of them had significant problems disposing of their agricultural waste. Take rice for example...it has a high silica content so the rice straw leftover from harvest can't be tilled into the ground, its not good for feed (wears the cows teeth down) and is toxic to burn. This is a big problem for the largest crop in the world.

We have a patented solution that will help the farmers and help our planet. We invented a process that converts rice straw to cellulosic ethanol and during that process separates the high grade silica which has many commercial uses such as solar panels and vitamins to name a few

Colusa Biomass cellulosic ethanol will provide two significant and immediate benefits:

  • Blending cellulosic ethanol into our gasoline causes cleaner burning and greatly reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Every gallon of ethanol converted from waste biomass replaces ¾ of a gallon of gasoline from imported oil. This will help heal the planet and reduce our dependency of foreign oil.

When the rice farmer grows an acre of rice he gets about 8000 pounds of rice and 5000 pounds of rice straw. PanGens technology can take an acre of waste rice straw and turn it into:

  • 313 gallons of cellulosic ethanol
  • 900 pounds of high quality silica

Lignin a by-product we can convert to energy used by our refinery

Our technology can generate more than $890 of revenue from each acre of waste rice straw. Its great for the farmers, good for the economy, healing for the planet and inspiring for our future generations We think that's pretty amazing.

Thank you for your interest. You will be seeing a lot more of Pan Gen Global in the future.
